I extend my warm wishes to you. It is indeed a matter of pride for me to send you this letter so as to update you about our school.

We have  successfully completed 12 years. It has come up through various phases and is emerging as one of the well known Residential schools in Mumbai. This is possible only because of your kind co-operation and benevolent support throughout.

Today RAM RATNA VIDYA MANDIR, runs as an ISO 9001-2000 certified, CBSE affiliated, senior secondary residential school for boys, from class IV to XII. It is also a centre for AIEEE (All India Engineering Entrance Examination) examination. The school which began with 21 students has strength of 459 students and 47 teachers, with one of the best laboratories, Libraries, Computer labs with a PC per student ratio. Our Library acts as a Career Guidance Centre subscribing magazines for all the entrance exams on Engineering, Medical, Civil Service, Commerce, and Management & IT Fields etc. Students can access these materials whenever necessary. More than 7000 books, 40 periodicals and 8 newspapers are available in Library. One of the unique features, this year is the tie up with Rao IIT-Academy (Kota), to provide the Students of class 11^th Science an opportunity to get the Kota pattern of IIT coaching here in Mumbai itself. We have also started up a nurture programme from class 8^th to 10^th. More emphasis is given to students- learning experience by providing  Study trips to banks, Multi-commodity exchange, Bhaba Atomic Research centre, live seminar of astronaut Sunita Williams at IIT Powai, etc.The school arranges Guest lectures from different fields especially for Career Guidance. So far we have covered – Defence Service, Architectural Engineering, Journalism, Environmental Science, Chartered Accountant, Computer Science, Management, Surgeon etc. Scholastic tests of ASSET, National Science, Mathematics and Computer Olympiads, etc are conducted every year.

Moral Science and personality trait monitoring is added from class IV to XII to improve the ethical values in life, with zero periods conducted by the class teachers. Books of Mastering Mathematics, Abacus, Origami and Vedic Mathematics are introduced from class IV onwards to increase the speed and to make the students understand the concepts of Mathematics. Our academic achievements include 100/100 in Mathematics (2008) for which the student received CBSE Merit Certificate, 95% highest in class X board result. So far we have received merits in the subjects English, Hindi, Mathematics and Accountancy. Children for the first time won Zonal Level Science Exhibition of CBSE and were  selected to participate in National CBSE Science Exhibition, New Delhi which was published in the Times of India Student Edition (NIE). This year our student Master. Chintan Shah was awarded as Best Student of the year from Times of India, and class 12^th students received prizes for best essays from RBI.

In sports too students have brought laurels to the school. The students have participated in the tournaments organised by District sports authority, CBSE and private organisations and also interschool sports tournament, We have won the Dronningland Cup in Handball, 5 Gold Medals, 8 Silver and 4 Bronze Medals in the State level Karate championship, State Championship in Volleyball and participation in the CBSE National Volleyball Tournaments which was organized by CBSE at Chandigarh. Our Vidyalaya has organized DSO (District Sports Office) Interschool Football competition in our campus. Adding one more feather to our cap is the fact that today we have received the best school award as well as cash prize as an incentive grant in DSO. for beating the best teams of almost 110 schools in games such as Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Athletics and Karate and being the topper in Thane district.

In Fine Art our students achieved State, National and International Level Trophies this year.More than 50 Gold Medals along with Silver and Bronze medals are won by our children in different reputed competitions organized by National and International organizations. We have also won 3 Best Vidyalaya Awards, Best Teacher Award and the Best Principal Award with Cash Prizes from National and International competitions. In Music too Vidyalaya has received Awards in State and National Level competitions continuously. Students and teachers regularly participate in All India radio programme. Students also participate in Solo singing competition, Sangeet Surabhi wherein their vocal talent is enhanced.

The school caters to the professional growth of the teachers with regular guidance and training, by external experts as well as the in house, visits to different schools and attending workshops on “emotional Intelligence”, Ed leadership workshop (Lucknow), Science workshop in Baroda and also Strategic Leadership Training for Principals at IIM, Bangalore(as selected by CBSE). Home away from home is the motto of the school for which it is striving to provide the best boarding facilities, Mess, swimming pool, and ideal games and sports facility. It seems that the great vision with which the school is set up that is to develop socially conscious Bharitya citizens of tomorrow who will provide enlightened; leadership in all walks of life, is not o distant dream.

Team work is an essential factor in the success of any institution. Needless to say Ram Ratna is proud to have an excellent team of teachers; alumni who under the zealous and diligent leadership of all the members of Vidyalay Management committee endeavoured to live the vision and work hard to achieve it.

Gandhiji has rightly quoted, “Much is expected from those who give more”
