GURUPURNIMA

Hindu culture not only respects but reverends Guru, because it is the Guru who shows us the path to reach true salvation. To commemorate this respect for the Guru we celebrate Gurupurnima. This year too we in RRVM celebrated Gurupurnima on 15th July in the traditional fervor with Dwaj vandhan and Samarpan. The Chief Guest of the day was Shri Mandar Bhanuse , Asst Prof. cum Asst. Director in Institute of Distance and Open Learning , University of Mumbai. He gave an inspiring talk on the significance of Guru in one’s life.

ICE-CREAM DAY

As third Sunday of July is celebrated as the Ice-Cream Day all over the world the Nrityanjali group celebrated the Ice-Cream Day in our school on 18th July 2011 depicting the significance and the excitement of the same. The programme included various activities, a group dance and a skit called “ice cream wallah” which also showed the students how ice creams are made. Amidst much joy the students also enjoyed ice creams which were distributed to each one by the institute.

RAKSHA BANDHAN

The Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated with great joy and with a festive mood in Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir on 13th August 2011. The celebration started with a beautiful song by the music Choir dedicated to all the sisters, ‘Phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai’. Like every year our students along with some of the teachers visited the nearby villages to tie Rakhis conveying the message of brotherhood. All the female teachers tied Rakhis to the supporting staff in the School Mess. From 2:30 p.m to 5:30 p.m the parents were invited to celebrate the festive day with their wards. The students who had no sister, for them the female staff tied Rakhi .These students enjoyed the day with sweets, snacks and also a movie.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

The 64th Independence Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm in Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir. The Chief Guest,--------.The flag hoisting ceremony took place at 10.00 a.m. in Vidyalaya Assembly Hall, at the hands of the Chief Guest, the Principal and in the august gathering of all the trustees, the management committee, the parents, the students and the teaching and the non-teaching staff of RRVM.The programmes included Group songs, Speech and Skit in Hindi and English, and group dances.Soon after, the Principal addressed the whole gathering, highlighting the achievements and the development of the school and wishing everybody “A Very happy Independence Day”. In the end, the Chief Guest, --------, in his speech signified the importance of Indian Culture and that we should cherish the same. The programme concluded, arousing in every heart the feeling of patriotism, on the notes of “Vande Mataram”.

SREE KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI

The Janmashtami pooja was performed on 21st August, 2011 at the hands of the Vice Principal, Ms Anagha Prabhu. The function started at around 6 pm attended by the staff and the students. With pooja and Bhajan the entire atmosphere wore a spiritual aura. The next day there was an inter house skit competition on Lord Krishna, in the assembly hall in the morning. After lunch the students enjoyed Dahi handi, with a group of every house getting an opportunity to break the dahi Handi. Amidst much cheer and gaiety the students and staff enjoyed the celebrations.

GANESH CHATURTHI & VISARJAN

We celebrate all Hindu festivals inside the campus as RRVM family. On the same note the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in its spirit. The festival began with the Ganesh Sthapana Pooja. The 10 days celebrations included bhajan and Keertans by the each house students and teachers. We had also invited the Bhajan groups from the nearby villages like Morva and Rai, whose performance not only created a spiritually charged atmosphere in the Ganapati pandal but also gave a taste of rural culture and traditions to our students.

The Ganesh immersion procession was also a gala affair. With loud slogans of “Ganapati Bappa Morya” the RRVM staff and students took off the procession at around 5 pm on 11th Sept. Amidst the beatings of local bands the students and staff danced their way to see off their loveable God Shree Ganesh.

TEACHERS’ DAY

This year’s ‘Teachers’ day was a memorable one for the teachers of RRVM. The day began in a customary manner with the students taking on the roles of their teachers. They presented cultural programmes after which each teacher was felicitated with a card by students who had enacted them. The students also gifted a beautiful memento to the entire staff. In the afternoon a special programmme was arranged in the conference room at around 4 pm. Teachers presented various cultural programmes like group songs, solo bhajans and a classical dance. The honorary guests of the day were Shri Bapuji and Maa, (Shri. Rameshwarlalji Kabra & Smt. Ratnaprabhaji Kabra) -the founder trustee of RRVM). Both actively participated in the group song. The Function ended with an inspiring speech by Bapuji.
